Anxious about School

I've put together some practical ideas for what to do if your child is anxious about going into school. Just remember it won't last forever. Be a strong leader for your child especially in that moment, don't fuss over them and make sure you follow the same routine for saying goodbye each day so it's securing to them because they know what to expect.

Recommended Podcasts

Keep in mind that it's best not to listen to podcasts when your children are around. It’s fine to say to them “I’m struggling, parenting is hard and I need help sometimes” but it’s really not appropriate for them to listen to all the examples and details shared in a podcast – definitely anxiety inducing. Your child will feel confused and this will not help their sense of security.

This list tells you a bit about the books that have had an influence on my parenting over the years. I've found most libraries have a good parenting section and they're normally right next to the kids picture books so have a peruse next time you're there and your little one is engrossed in the kids books!
